Consists of a layer of crushable plastic microfoam coated onto polyester film of highly uniform thickness. Available in a number of grades to accommodate measurements in different profile ranges.

Features

• All grades are coated onto a tough polyester substrate 2.0 mils (50 µm) in thickness
• Foam thichness: 2.6+ mils/65+ µm
• Gauge Range 0.8 to 2.0 mils/20 to 60 µm
• When compressed by burnishing, the foam acquires an impression of the surface against which it is burnished
• The thickness of the compressed tape equals the average maximum peak-to-valley profile plus the thickness of the incompressible polyester substrate
• A spring-loaded micrometer gauge is used to measure the thickness of the replica
• Each roll contains sufficient replica tape for 50 readings
