A:
This product is now obsolete and information related to its function is limited.

Typically a function of the high limit is a safety device that is designed to interrupt the boiler operation in the event that the temperature inside the boiler reaches an unsafe level. Once the high limit temperature is reached, the control will open and shut down the boiler until the temperature drops back to a safe level.

As such, we believe the 790-398-000 High Limit Control is not a one-time-only device, meaning that it will reset itself after the temperature drops back to a safe level and will allow the boiler to resume operation. However, if the high limit control continues to trip frequently, it may indicate a problem with the boiler or its operating conditions, and a professional technician should be consulted to diagnose and address any underlying issues.

However, we are not 100% certain of its action in your application.  As each remote application is different, we cannot provide a determination of the switch and its function.  We highly suggest that you seek professional help from a licensed professional that is familiar with the safety codes and standards mandated by your local Authority Having Jurisdiction. They will be able to properly diagnose the issue and recommend the appropriate solution to ensure the safety and proper functioning of your boiler system.
