The 1599634 is a stainless steel 1.5" wye strainer designed for use with Nortec brand applications. Wye Strainers (or Y-Strainers) help filter our unwanted particulate in steam, liquid, and gas lines. The difference between a Wye Strainer and a traditional filter is generally the size of matter that is removed. Strainers tend to filter out larger particulate through a seroes of wire mesh element. You can use these strainers in pipelines for pumps, meters, steam traps, regulators, control valves and other applications that can be damaged by unwanted solids. The media will flow through the pipe and the arm of the strainer can be uncapped to remove the particulate that has been collected. Flushing your system of debris can reduce downtime and costly repairs due to corrosion and blockages.
