No, I would not recommend this product to a friend or co-worker

1.0 Same part number, completely different part

The model number says "Ecobee EB-PEK-01" but this is not even remotely the same as the genuine Ecobee part. The genuine part has a built-in wiring harness, for starters, and this unit has an entirely different number of wires with different labels that do not line up with the genuine part. Avoid.
